the best wines to try this thanksgiving

Wines For Your Thanksgiving Table

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, which means "Winter is Coming." And in keeping up with that theme, we here at Simply Unwined have decided to change our Wine of the Week blog posts to a seasonal wine offering. We will recommend our favorite wines to go along with the upcoming season. Even though we won't post as often, it will be more robust. This past year we have tried a lot of different wines. Here are some of our favorites that would go great with your Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Westwood Legend Red Blend

Westwood Red Blend - 2017

This heavy cab blend will run you back about $45-$60, but if you are a non-traditionalist and looking to scratch your turkey for a heavier pork roast or beef tenderloin, this is worth the jack. We had it with a pork-heavy meal and lobster Mac and cheese and were not disappointed.

Pessimist 2.jpg

Pessimist Red Blend

Priced from $20-$30, this wine is a smooth red blend that will not only compliment most of the foods you find on your Thanksgiving dinner plate but will also keep even the most pessimistic of your dinner guests happy. Because, you know, "a pessimist is never disappointed."

Tizanni Opera No 3 Red Wine Blend

Tizanni - Opera No 3

This is the third red blend on the list of our favorite wines for your Thanksgiving table. Blends can "blend" with many types of food and different palates, helping to bring a meal together. This Italian Red is no exception. It is full-bodied and smooth and will not overpower your Turkey or many of your delicious side dishes. The best part about this wine, you can get it at Costco for $15 a know what that means...the more, the merrier!

Napa Valley Quilt Chardonnay

Napa Valley Quilt Chardonnay

I know not everyone is a red wine drinker, so if you are looking for an excellent white wine that will complement your Turkey and all of its tidings, check out this Chardonnay from Napa Valley. It's the perfect balance of oaky/not oaky, buttery/not buttery. It's easy drinking and delicious and is usually priced between $20-$30 a bottle.

Regardless of the type of wine you choose to serve this Thanksgiving, it will always taste better in proper wine glasses, then use this to clean them!

From Our Family to Yours...Happy Thanksgiving!
